Level I Certificate and Elective

Prerequisite - Certificate IV or Diploma of Anatomy and Physiology and Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy from this college or equivalent qualification from an approved college.
Duration: 1 x 3 hrs.and 30 min. lecture per week for 6 weeks.
Time: 6pm - 9.30pm - Thursday
College Site: Blacktown Campus.

Certificate of Attendance - 1x 6 hour workshop for 2 Sundays. Blacktown Campus.

This course is designed to teach the comprehensive techniques of chaired massage therapy. The student is taken from little or no knowledge of chaired massage to having an understanding of muscle stress and fatigue due to a long hours of repetitive exertion and muscle movements.

A special technique of muscle and joint manipulations are emphasized to relax the patient in a few minutes whilst having a work-break. This is a very popular area of therapeutic intervention for people who are working in the office, those who are chair-bound and are experiencing back pain and discomfort. This therapy can also be given when travelling on a long distance journey.
