There's nothing worse than someone sneezing all over the Equipment you're about to use in the Gym
or in the Workplace. Kinda puts you off. Athletes are at more risk than most people. Despite all your hard work
to be healthy you can end up getting sick more often. The Immune System's primary food is Glutamine.
Training at the levels some Athletes do seriously depletes their Glutamine supply. Let's face it, being sick sucks
and it takes time away from training and other social activities. What can you do ? Add Glutamine to your list of
Supplements. If your Glutamine level is High your Immune System won't have to suffer. You could also add more
Vitamin C, Echinacea, Ginseng and Polyphenois to your regimen to help prevent colds and flu. |

Walnuts are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, which prevent cardiovascular disease. They might also help prevent prostate cancer. Paul Davis from the University of California reported that walnuts reduced the size and progression of prostate cancer in mice. Walnuts might prevent heart disease and cancer by decreasing inflammation, which triggers abnormal cell growth. It also reduces IGF-1, A highly anabolic hormone linked to prostate cell growth.
Walnuts are high in antioxidants, which protect the cells from highly – reactive chemicals produced naturally during metabolism, called free radicals. They also promote weight control. They are high in fat and calories, but they fill you up, so you eat less during the day. ( National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, March, 2010 ) |
